Britain’s new monarch, Charles III, and the three other brothers today held a vigil for around 15 minutes next to the coffin of Elizabeth II in Westminster Hall, London.
In silence, with his head bowed, the king stood at the head of the coffin, while his sister Anne and brother Edward stood at the sides. André was at the foot of the ballot box.
All wore military uniforms, including André, who broke with royal tradition since 2019.
Andre was allowed to wear his uniform during the vigil as a sign of respect, although protocol only allows such attire for members of the royal family.
The body of Elizabeth II has been in a burning chamber in Westminster Hall since Wednesday.
